The Special Education Department provides basic academic instruction and counseling to specific learning disabilities students. Students are enrolled in this support program following an individual assessment, the purpose of which is to identify relative learning strengths and weaknesses and to determine if a student meets California State eligibility criteria for enrollment. A student typically enrolls in this program one or two periods per day, with the remainder of classes taken within the educational mainstream. Placement is determined by an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) team.
