Our School
Welcome to Burlingame High School
Burlingame High School (BHS) is a comprehensive four-year public high school located 15 miles south of San Francisco. The suburban setting of Burlingame is home to 30,000 residents. We are a California Distinguished School and work hard to ensure that our students receive the best educational opportunities possible with a highly qualified faculty and a staff that takes great pride in our school.
We are one of seven high schools in the San Mateo Union High School District. Since San Mateo Union High School District is an open-enrollment district, Burlingame High School students come from the entire San Mateo Union High School District boundary area, and serves approximately 1,450 students.
Burlingame High School enjoys close ties with and receives tremendous support from the city and community of Burlingame. Perhaps the best thing about Burlingame High School is the connection and positive relationship we have with our community: we encourage parent volunteerism and support, and have established internship and volunteer opportunities across the county for our students.
Burlingame High School students are dedicated to improving their school and larger community through participation in a wide number and variety of programs through school climate initiatives, athletics, clubs, service learning, and volunteerism. We offer a broad curriculum that supports students in exploring their academic, personal, and career goals.
Our school gives students the opportunity to investigate their passions through various coordinated opportunities in job shadowing, peer tutoring, and concurrent enrollment at the community college, to name a few.
