Barry Tyler

Barry Tyler has been in education for 20-plus years as an elementary, high school, and district office administrator.   My teaching experience includes High School and Middle School as a Health Education and Physical Education teacher.  I coach varsity-level basketball, football, and track & field. My area of specialty is Restorative Practice. I have included restorative principles in athletics as an Athletic Director in discipline when administering Corrective Action and supporting students and their families with IEP and 504 plans.  My experience reviewing, modifying, and developing policies, practices, and procedures has helped maintain safe campus cultures, including ensuring that our facilities are safe for students, staff, and all visitors to our campus.  

Joining the Burlingame Team, I can assure each of you that my willingness to see all students achieve success is mirrored by a commitment to providing the unwavering support that each of you requires to help students have the greatest probability of success.  Please expect that I will be visible, you will see me walking classrooms and attending school events to support and build rapport with students and staff. I’ll support and participate in community activities and events hosted by our educational partners to ensure collaborative success for all stakeholders.
