Lauren Kelly

Ms. Kelly has extensive leadership experience across comprehensive secondary schools and regional occupational programs. She brings a grounded, evidence-based approach to school oversight. Having served as Principal, Vice Principal, Assistant Director of Educational Services, and K–12 Pathway Coordinator in districts such as Santa Clara USD, Eastside Union HSD, Pleasanton USD, and Liberty Union HSD, her leadership focuses on expanding student opportunities and strengthening school-wide systems.

Ms. Kelly has focussed on the development of rigorous instructional and career pathways where she facilitated course articulations with the community colleges and worked to increase college a-g prerequisite offerings for schools.  She led the establishment of the Project Lead The Way Engineering program, a Building & Construction Trades pathway, and an articulated Careers with Children program where graduating seniors earned college credits.

In addition to program development, she was responsible for fiscal and operational management. This included managing $6 million in Strong Workforce Program grants, overseeing $1.7 million in annual ASB funds, directing Title I and LCAP allocations, and collaborating with local site councils on bond fund expenditures.

Ms. Kelly holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Master of Education in Secondary Education from the University of California, Los Angeles, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from San Francisco State University. Professional credentials include a California Administrative Credential from UCLA’s Principal Leadership Institute, and Single Subject Mathematics Credential and Supplemental Journalism Credential from UCLA’s Teacher Education Program.

Ms. Kelly believes that “schools should be the center of their community and that the best work comes from collaboration with the intention of improving academics, school culture, and career pathways for all students.”
