Special thanks to our partners Greystone West, BHM Construction and Quattrocchi Kwok Architects for keeping this project on schedule and ready for student use at the start of the school year.

BHS Music Director Kyoko Yamamoto and the BHS Band, as well as the BHS Cheer squad, entertained the crowd during the event.

After the ceremony, with the help of BHS Service Commissioners, BHS students, their families and alumni, BHS coaches, Burlingame city officials, and community members, toured the new gym. The 37,492 square foot building features a full-size gym, with locker rooms, a weight room, and coaches’ offices on the first floor, and a practice gym and multipurpose room on the second floor.

Construction began in June 2024 and wrapped in August 2025. With a budget of $40.5 million, this gym is one of the major milestones funded through Measure L, our $385 million bond passed in 2020. SMUHSD and Burlingame High School wish to extend their gratitude to the voters and taxpayers of our District for their support of Measure L.
